Example of keeping customers first – Amazon

I am fan of great customer service being delivered by companies like Amazon, Zappos , Buffer etc. Here is an excerpt that I found today somewhere on Internet. Truly remarkable.

During the on-going Flipkart’s big billion sale, I was checking the prices of shirts at all the major e-commerce sites like Flipkart, Amazon and Snapdeal.

As I was shortlisting the Shirts in Amazon, I found that the process of selecting the desired clothing brands was a tedious one and you had to scroll down the brands within a small box, with no option of searching.

I wrote a mail to Jeff Bezos, Amazon’s founder at jeff@amazon.com, telling him about the issue. I also attached a screenshot with the Brands box marked.

I did not receive any response from him. But yesterday, on the last day of the sale (2 days after the mail), I was once again browsing through Amazon to finalise my shirt. And to my surprise, the Brands section had added a new search option and an improved Brands Box that had a better scroll down option.

I read a lot of answers about how Amazon’s customer service is way above Flipkart. But the way Amazon edited its website on a customer’s suggestion, takes their commitment towards customer satisfaction to a different level.
